Cookie Policy

Last updated: July 10, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Mark Milders Photo ("we," "us," "our"), operating markmilders.com, uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website. It applies to visitors from the UK, the EU, and elsewhere.

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Cookies help websites function properly, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use the site.

We currently use cookies that fall into a few categories. Necessary cookies are required for the website to operate and cannot be switched off; these are set by our website platform, Squarespace, to support core functions like page loading and security. Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the site, such as which pages are viewed and for how long, using Squarespace's built-in analytics. If in the future we add marketing or advertising cookies (for example, if we run ad campaigns), we will update this policy and request your consent before those cookies are set, as required in the UK and EU.

If you are located in the UK or EU, we will ask for your consent before placing non-essential cookies on your device, using a cookie banner that lets you accept or decline these categories. You can change your preference at any time by revisiting the cookie settings link in the site footer, or by adjusting your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Please note that blocking necessary cookies may affect how the site functions.

Some cookies are placed by third parties who provide services on our behalf, currently Squarespace (our website host and analytics provider). If we introduce a print/photo store with online payments, our payment processor will also place cookies necessary to process transactions securely; we will name that provider here once it is in place.

Where cookies result in data being transferred outside the UK or European Economic Area (for example, because Squarespace's servers are located in the United States), that transfer relies on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Mark Milders Photo ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit markmilders.com or contact us, including if you purchase prints or images from us. We are the data controller for the personal information described below. You can reach us at mark@markmilders.com.

When you use our contact form, we collect the name, email address, and any message details you choose to provide, so that we can respond to your enquiry. When you browse our site, our hosting provider, Squarespace, automatically collects limited technical and usage data, such as pages visited and general visitor activity, through analytics cookies, to help us understand how the site is used. If we begin selling prints or digital images directly to individuals, we will additionally collect the information needed to fulfil an order, such as your name, email address, delivery address, and order details; payment card information will be entered directly with our payment processor and we will not store your full card details ourselves

We use this information to respond to enquiries, operate and improve the website, fulfil and communicate about orders once our store is active, and meet our legal obligations, such as tax and accounting requirements for sales. Our legal bases for this processing are your consent (for example, when you submit the contact form or accept cookies), the necessity of processing to perform a contract with you (for example, fulfilling an order), and our legitimate interests in operating and improving our business, balanced against your rights.

We share personal information with service providers who help us run the website and business, currently Squarespace for hosting and analytics, and in future a payment processor to handle transactions securely. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK or European Economic Area; where this occurs, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses to protect your information.

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, such as the length of time needed to respond to an enquiry, or the period required by tax and accounting law for order records once we begin selling prints.

If you are located in the UK or EU, you have rights under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR regarding your personal information, including the right to access the data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion, restrict or object to certain processing, request a copy of your data in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, such as the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at mark@markmilders.com.

Our website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time; the "last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes take effect indicates your acceptance of the updated policy
